What is Reiki?
Nothing to do, nothing to believe, nothing to get right.
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on practice that began in Japan a century ago. The word means universal life energy, and the practice is simple in form. You rest, fully clothed, while light touch or hands held just above the body invite the whole system to slow down and settle.
Reiki is a popular healing modality and several people across the world claim to have healed even serious illnesses. Maya practices and teaches both Usui Reiki and Karuna Reiki — the two most potent Reiki forms.
Many people describe a session as a deep, restful calm — a warmth, a sense of something they'd been holding quietly letting go. It asks nothing of you but to lie down and receive.

Reiki Healing
A one-to-one Reiki session, held in person or at a distance. You settle, you close your eyes, and for the next while you're simply held in stillness. People often leave feeling lighter, calmer and more themselves — the way a long exhale feels after a held breath. Distance sessions carry the same quiet, received from wherever you are in the world.
Learn Reiki
If the practice calls you, you can carry it yourself. Maya teaches Reiki through its traditional levels — from the first attunement, where you learn to work with the energy for yourself and those close to you, through to the deeper training of the practitioner and teacher path. You'll learn the hand positions, the principles, and the quiet art of holding space — a practice that stays with you for life.
Reiki is a practice for relaxation and wellbeing. It isn't medical treatment, and it works alongside the care of your doctor, never in place of it.
